Zaufanie do Słowa – praktyka i teoria pedagogiczna Ferdynanda Ebnera

The article is a proposal of the synthesis of the pedagogical concept of the Austrian philosopher of dialogue, Ferdinand Ebner. The author divided the article’s content into three parts. In the first part, he discussed the Ebnerian view of the child, analyzing seven philosophical and theological questions in which the Austrian thinker presented his understanding of the child and childhood, particularly in the context of the eponymous concept of trust in the Word of God. In the second part, he reconstructed the Ebnerian notion of pedagogical impact, focusing primarily on the dialogical, non-violent dimension of education. Finally, in the third part, he contrasted the pedagogical methods postulated by Ebner with the standard pedagogical practice in force in Austria in Ebner’s time. All the threads addressed by the author are richly illustrated with Ebner’s statements taken from his numerous texts.
