Bydgoszcz w zasobach Archiwum Internetu - przyczynek do webowej historii miasta

Abstrakt

The Internet Archive is an American nonprofit organization founded in 1996, which is involved in archiving online resources. It copies websites with the use of specialized software, assuring their viewing in the future. Activities of the organization also include the Polish web, thus resources regarding Bydgoszcz. The article also describes the issue of web archiving and results of a short analysis of the state of preservation of selected Bydgoszcz websites in the resources of the Internet Archive. Studies allowed to determine the number of archival copies of individual portals along with the dates of the first and last copy. The article also presented possibilities of use of this type of modern sources to learn about the city and its residents.
