Abstrakt

He was born in Kiev on May 20, 1877 as a son of Rudolf and Marianna nee Zeleney. He graduated from the Faculty of Construction of the Lvov Technical University, broadening his professional knowledge in Zurich. Along with his wife Kazimiera nee Spława Neyman, their son Rudolf and daughter Regina he lived in Voronezh. After the revolution, Ludwik Regamey enrolled in the Polish Army. He was fighting in the Polish-Soviet War. After demilitarization he settled down with his family in Bydgoszcz. In December 1920, he became the city’s construction adviser. He supervised construction of the municipal power plant. In Bydgoszcz, he was one of the founders of the Association of Poles from the Eastern Borderlands. He was an active member of the Polish Intelligentsia Organization and the Polish Club. In 1922, he contributed to establishing of the Music Society. In 1924, he became the first chairman of the Alliance Franęaise. After that, he cooperated with the Society of the Friends of France, led by his second wife Maria nee Strowski. When he retired, he moved to Paris. He worked in the Society of the Polish Friends in France. Since 1936, he was the chairman of the Committee of this association. He also worked as deputy chairman of the Main Board of the Association of Poles in France, chairman of the Paris District of the Polish Association, and chairman of the Polish House in Paris. After the war, he moved to Toulouse, where he was mainly involved in composing music. He died on February 8, 1967.
