Tourism in selected river valleys of Wallonia and its effect on the local communities in the context of sustainable development

The principles ofsustainable development are present in all spheres of the economy. The three pillars of this development which are environment -man -economy, complement and interact with one another. The implementation of the above-mentioned idea in tourism on the one hand makes it possible to reduce the negative impact on the environment, and on the other hand to improve the standard of living and well-being of local communities. This article aims to determine the impact of sustainable tourism on local communities living in the riverside municipalities of Meuse and Semois in Wallonia.
