Bridge toll prices for using the railway bridge on the Vistula River in the Fordon area in 1923

Abstract

The history of the permanent crossing in Fordon was not described in full in any scientific monograph, taking into consideration extensive historical, economic and military contexts of bridge operation and its significance. This topic, however, was the subject of more or less extensive studies in Polish literature. The purpose of this article is presentation of interesting source materials, which are bridge toll prices for using the railway bridge on the Vistula River in Fordon, dating back from 1923. One of these documents is published as scientific research editorial. It is preceded by a foreword and extensive historical introduction. The beginning of the article describes the history of the old crossing over the river in Fordon. An analysis of previously unknown archives can serve as a factor stimulating further studies on this topic
