Abstract

Political system, legal and financial changes contributed to an increase ofpublishing houses involved in widely understood school press. This process has spread across Poland, including Bydgoszcz. The range of this activity can be confirmed by the factthat there are competitions for the best school newsletter. The academic community has also made its contribution. In this case, we deal with community and scientific bulletins. Both types of publications are released not only by the main local universities, Kazimierz Wielki University and University of Science and Technology, but also by smallercolleges such as Higher Education School of Health Sciences. When there are more positive over negative opinions about the level of education, then community newsletters usually do not fulfill their basic goal, which is serving as a place for interfaculty discussion. Dominating topics include praising of accomplishments of academic authorities, personnel and students.
