Files of German political parties, organizations, unions and associations held by the State Archiyes in Bydgoszcz

Abstract

Files of German political parties, organizations, unions and associations constitute only a smali part of records in the resources of the State Archiyes in Bydgoszcz. The condition of their preseryation differs as well, from residual documentation to several dozen units. It allows only to leam about the character and specificity of their activity. Files of every preseryed political party, organization, union or association create independent archiyal groups. These groups are completely compiled and provided with basie archiyal support - book inyentory. Some of the presented archiyes are provided with a brief notę about their creators, periods in which they fimctioned and actiyity conducted. The mentioned source materials are very popular among researchers interested in issues related to German national minority. The Bydgoszcz Germans constituted a socially important component in the national profile of the city. Several German minority organizations had their main offices in Bydgoszcz. The archiyes collected are presented in a diyision to subject groups.
