Remembering the past, events shattering the world order, periods of historical turmoil, and smali personal dramas taking place in the background, as well as constant moments of joy and happiness, build our identity and develop history of every man, his or her home, region and State. Therefore, preserving this memory for futurę generations is very important. This actmty is conducted by centers involved in recording, archiying and popularizing orał history. There are morę than 500 of them in Poland. One of the Bydgoszcz institutions, involved in building a collection of reports of witnesses to history, is UKW Library. In 2011-2022, the Orał History Archiye - Memories of Bydgoszcz Residents recorded 1,600 stories of 69 witnesses. In addition, it collected 120 documents (or their copies), and 236 photographs. Activity of the Memories of Bydgoszcz Residents Archiye is focused on creating an original and interesting story about Bydgoszcz and its residents; a special history, sińce described by the residents of the city of Bydgoszcz. This article tells about the works that led to establishing the Memories of Bydgoszcz Residents and Region Studio, its online portal and its current news.
