In their pursuit of full political power in post-war Poland, the Communists used all available methods. They did so in accordance with, formulated
on the basis of Marxism, Lenin’s directives. Among the methods of socio-technical influence on individuals was economic coercion. This was a very effective
tool in a war-ravaged country, where citizens did not have their basic subsistence needs met. The subject of the article is the presentation of selected legal
regulations aimed at tightening the economic coercion used by the communists against Polish society in the period preceding the elections to the Legislative
Assembly in January 1947.The dogmatic-legal method and content analysis were used to study the subject in question
