I. General Guidelines
Submissions to the journal should meet the following formatting criteria:

II. Citing Legal Acts
When referring to legal acts, the citation should include the place of publication in a footnote. The reference should appear immediately after the final word of the title. If the full title of the act is provided in the footnote, the publication details should be enclosed in parentheses.
Example:
Act of 27 April 2001 – Environmental Protection Law (consolidated text: Journal of Laws 2024, item 54, as amended).
For acts of European Union law, include the type of act, its number (as officially published in the Official Journal), issuing body, date of enactment, title, and publication reference.
Example:
Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain directives (OJ L 208, 312.3).
III. Citing Judicial Decisions
For Polish court decisions, provide the type of decision (judgment, decision, resolution, etc.), the date, case number (without “case no.”), and the place of publication. Alternatively, a reference number from an official legal database (e.g., LEX) is acceptable. It is not permitted to cite other types of electronic sources, especially unofficial websites with Supreme Court, Supreme Administrative Court or Constitutional Tribunal rulings (e.g., IPO, CBOSA). When citing Constitutional Tribunal rulings, reference to the OTK journal is mandatory.
Examples:
- Supreme Court judgment of 12 March 2008, I CSK 430/07, OSNC 2009, No. 5, item 75.
- Voivodship Administrative Court in Kraków judgment of 30 June 2016, SA/Kr 407/16, LEX No. 20851700
- Constitutional Tribunal decision of 27 September 2005, U 2/05, OTK-A 2005, No. 8, item 96.
For judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) available in the HUDOC database, provide: the date of the decision, case name (using "v." and the country name in Polish), application number, and paragraph number. Decisions on admissibility should be referred to as "decisions" but treated as procedural orders.
Example:
ECHR judgment of 25 May 1993, Kokkinakis v. Greece, application no. 14307/88, para. 33.
For judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), cite: the date, case number, case name using "v.", ECLI identifier, and paragraph number.
Example:
CJEU judgment of 13 May 2015, C-516/13, Dimensione Direct Sales Srl, Michaelle Labianca v. Knoll International SpA, ECLI:EU:C:2014:76, para. 39.
