Abstract

The author takes the issue of Literacy in industrialized wealthy countries. Referring to the empirical research conducted in England, France and Germany, shows the scale of the phenomenon, which imposes activities carried out by policy and educational systems. International experts groups still are working on terminological problems. This orientation to wards new literacies is largely psycholinguistic or sociocultural in nature There are a lot of new concepts of Literacy. Literacy is a social practice, not simply a technical and neutral skill; that is always embedded in socially constructed principles.
