Fetishism among students as a task for a school counsellor

Abstract

The text draws attention to the problem of unusual sexual proclivities, which are manifested in individuals at a young age. The survey, led in University of Silesia, describes the students' knowledge about fetishism, its incidence and their readiness to work with people potentially at risk of fetishism. it shows the conclusions from the narrative study among declared fetishists including young adolescence as the period of arising inclinations and a school as the place of their first experiences in that field. The selected analysis of internet resources generates assumption, that development of electronic devices and new media are the reason of increased interest in fetishism and better communication between people affected by it. This phenomenon causes the risk of abuse related to publishing images of people who are unaware of it.
