This paper presents the design and implementation process of an IT system supporting the management of a medical clinic. The main objective was to create a relational database in the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 environment, fully utilizing the capabilities of the Transact-SQL (T-SQL) language. The project focused on shifting business logic to the database server side by applying stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions. The client application was developed in a two-tier architecture using the Delphi 5 environment and ADO technology, supplemented by a remote access module for patients implemented in PHP. The paper discusses the database structure, data integrity assurance mechanisms, and the functionality of individual system modules.
