Participants’ attitudes and stories were tested with authors’ own survey consisting of respondents’ particulars and 12 questions. The analysis of the obtained results confirmed that most women exhibited moderate to high fear of childbirth. The most significant was the fear of pain and postpartum complications. Although over 75% of respondents had heard their realtives’ traumatic birth stories, almost 92% of study’s participants would like to get pregnant and give birth to a child and over 90% of women perceived labour as a natural and instinctive phenomenon.
