Everyday life of a parentified child – narrative reconstructions

Parentification is a phenomenon occurring in the family life and consists of functional/ emotional reversal of the roles between the child and the parent or parents. In the research carried out by the author, embedded in the interpretative paradigm, parentification becomes the main subject of interest. The experience of reversing family roles appears as a phenomenon that forms part of his biography in various ways. The article attempts to present narrative reconstructions of the everyday life of a child parentified in the family. The analysis of (auto) biographical interviews allows for reconstruct the tasks and roles they perform.
