School as a civic education project

The subject of the study was an education model based on participation of students, parents and teachers in the learning organization. In 2013, diagnostic testing was conducted with the use of class survey among parents of five- and six-year-old children, focused on determination of a parent’s vision of school education and hierarchy of its selected components. Quantitative and qualitative analysis was conducted on empirical data regarding necessary – according to parents – changes in the present school and criteria that guide them during selection of school for their children. Test results indicate the need of strengthening the actual role of children in the education system and building partnership by including them into educational, organizational and didactic activities.
