The subject of considerations in this article is sexual education and related controversy. The author looks at the differences between the recommendations for teachers educating children and young people in the field of human sexuality developed by World health Organization and the ways the subject “family life education” is being conducted in Polish schools. Using the division into three types of sexual education, the author explains the benefits of a holistic approach (type C), which advocates both an early starting age of educating in this
field and providing children and young people with an unbiased, impartial information about all aspects of
human sexuality consistent with current scientific knowledge.
