Today, the professional activity in seniors at the end of their career life calls for a thoughtful and dynamic job market policy that would involve activating and supporting seniors in terms of additional education, retraining and taking up jobs. With that in mind, what is essential here is education that, among many forms of activity, stimulates the capacity for adaptation to changing living conditions most considerably, as well as affects the quality of life at each stage of human development. It is especially important at the time of ageing and it is related to making such people prepared for a rational, conscious and responsible operation of their career, social, cultural and family life. An interesting approach here can be provided by the results of research performed among the students of the Kazimierz Wielki University of the Third Age in Bydgoszcz as an attempt to determine whether the persons at the final stage of their career life consider its course so far in terms of their entire professional development. An attempt has been also made to demonstrate the opinions of the respondents on the seniors taking up their career and educational activity. The results of research make us reflect on the importance of education for the support of professional development in seniors at the final stage of their career life, especially those who decided, once they have retired, to return to the job market.
