Abstract

Socio-economic changes observed worldwide in the last several years have been a source of some significant consequeneces for market functioning and business world. Their influence has left its mark especially in countries of distinct economic transformation, such as Poland. Psychologist – formerly a person who was associated mainly with therapy, now finds employment in modern organizations and responds to their complex needs. Research results indicate that Psychology students express interest in working in business environment. According to the assumption proclaiming that universities have a task to regularly update information about enterpreneurs’ expectations towards graduates entering the labour market, it seems necessary to examine factors that may affect the willingness to cooperate with young psychologists. Authors of these studies have acknowledged that such factors include knowledge and attitude of management towards psychologists working in business environment. A group of 43 managers working in various branches in whole Poland took part in the research. Two questionnaires were used in this research. The results show that the most of managers can acurately identify areas of psychologists’ activity in organizations. Their attitude towards psychologists is evaluated positively and is characterized by consistency. A reflection of research is a statement that good knowledge and positive attitude towards this occupational group do not translate into a high frequency of real cooperation.
