Information for Authors

Individuals submitting manuscripts for publication in the academic journal Szkoła – Zawód – Praca (School–Profession–Labour) are kindly requested to acquaint themselves with the following information.

  1. Papers published in the scientific journal Szkoła – Zawód - Praca are presented in four sections:
    • Articles and dissertations,
    • Research reports,
    • Reviews,
    • Reports and information.
  2. The publication in the journal is free of charge.
  3. Submitting materials to the Editorial Board implies that the Author/Authors declare that the work has not been published anywhere, and the application for its publication is not being considered in other journals.
  4. Submitting a text for printing is equivalent to giving consent for its inclusion in the electronic version of the journal, which will be published on the journal's website, and in the databases where the journal is indexed.
  5. The journal publishes texts in Polish and other congress languages.
  6. Authors are obliged to prepare accurate footnotes and references, and to indicate the sources of the research funding based on which they present empirical results.
  7. It is prohibited to publish the same research results in more than one journal.
  8. The Editorial Board reserves the right to:
    • make abbreviations and changes as indicated by reviewers without consulting the Author;
    • return to the Author an article that does not meet the editorial standards set by the Editorial Team;
    • refuse to print the article in case the Author/Co-authors' statement is not provided.
  9. All authors of articles should participate in the correction process of any errors pointed out in reviews.
  10. Authors receive a printed copy of the journal.
  11. Authors do not receive payment for published texts.
  12. The digital version of the journal is available for download without additional charges from the website. Archived issues of the printed version of the journal are located in the UKW Library in Bydgoszcz.

    Publication Conditions

    To streamline the publishing process, we kindly ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

    1. The article should be written in MS Word; page format: A4; margins (2.5 cm: top, bottom; right margin 1.5 cm, left 3.5 cm); font – Times New Roman 12; style – normal; line spacing – 1.5.
    2. The article should include: the Author's first and last name; place of employment to which the article will be affiliated; ORCID number; official e-mail address which will be indicated as the contact for the Author in the published version of the text.
    3. The article structure should include: title in the language of the article; title in English; Introduction; main part ‒ the actual article; Conclusion, and References.
    4. On the first page of the article, in sequence, it should include: title, keywords, abstract - both in Polish and English – noting that:
      • In Polish-language articles, the affiliation name should be written in Polish, and after the title, the Author should place in the following order: Polish keywords and abstract, then English keywords and abstract,
      • In foreign-language articles, the affiliation name should be written in English, and after the title, the Author should place in the following order: English key words and abstract, then Polish keywords and abstract.
    5. When citing an author for the first time in the text, provide the full name. For subsequent citations, use only the first name initial.
    6. Please apply footnotes in APA style (in-text citations) following the pattern:
      • (Gerlach 2018, p. 15; Nowak 2010)
      • legal acts references (Act ... of 2020)
      • internet sources references (Kowalski, Work)
      • organization's page (MNiSW, 2023).
    7. At the end of the text, References should be placed, including: Surname, First name initial, Title, Publisher, Place and year of publication. All elements separated by commas. Please do not number the References, but align the first lines to the left margin and the second and subsequent with paragraph indentation. Do not provide page numbers in the References.

    1. The names of publishers are abbreviated according to the identifying name, without giving the full name, and instead of university publishing names = abbreviation of the university name, e.g., UMCS, UKSW, WSHE, Polit. Warsz., Uniw. Med., Difin, Impuls, Uniwersitas, Znak, Żak; but Adam Marszałek. In foreign-language entries analogously, only editorial abbreviations [in:], p., no., vol. This way of formatting applies regardless of the language in which the article is written.
    2. Netography/internet sources are part of one reference, please enter them alphabetically, and enter the access date in round brackets: (10.02.2023).
    3. References should only contain the bibliographic entries cited/used in the text, not those that inspired the Author to prepare it. If bibliographic entries indicated in the References have a DOI number, it should be provided.
    4. Please refer to the original sources in the References.
    5. Please be informed that submissions sent by authors will undergo scrutiny using anti-plagiarism software.
